Who We Are
What We Do
Bicycle Longmont came into being as a result of a task force created by Longmont's Mayor and City Council in 2001 to make suggestions for improvement to the Transportation Department. Since then we have focused our work in three main areas:
EDUCATION
We lead bicycle safety and skills development classes for kids and adults and we partner with the City of Longmont to update and distribute the official Longmont Bike Map.
ENCOURAGEMENT
Weekly cruiser rides, bike valet at the Farmers Market and other events, and our annual Kids Holiday Bike Program are just a few ways that we help get more people riding more frequently. We also promote and facilitate Safe Routes to School.
ADVOCACY
We attend and monitor all relevant meetings with City transportation officials to review and recommend cycling facilities and conditions in Longmont. We advocate for improved bicycle access in Longmont to Boulder County transportation officials.
